Campaign petition to be presented to the UK Government :

We the undersigned seek to abolish the current TV licence fee and move the BBC to a different voluntary funding model such as subscription or commercial.  Dating from 1946, the anachronistic TV licence should be withdrawn as there are now so many more channels, platforms and content delivery mechanisms available in the UK. We do not believe the BBC is either impartial or politically neutral and therefore does not warrant its special privileged position or royal charter.  All UK residents should be free to choose the type of broadcast or online media they consume and therefore fund – as a basic right in a democratic society.
